Principal's Report
Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members,
It has been another busy fortnight at Mac Street as we move closer to the midpoint of Term 3. The weeks are certainly flying by, and it has been wonderful to see our students continuing to grow in their learning and confidence.

A special congratulations goes to our Foundation students, who recently celebrated 100 Days of School. It is incredible to reflect on just how much they have developed since their very first day. From building friendships and routines to developing their literacy, numeracy and independence, they have achieved so much in such a short time. They also looked fantastic dressed as 100-year-olds, bringing plenty of smiles and laughter to the celebration!
A reminder that next Monday is a Curriculum Day, with students not needed to attend school. On this day, our staff will complete the fourth and final module of the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) professional learning. This final session focuses on helping students develop executive functioning skills, the thinking skills that enable children to plan, organise, manage their emotions, solve problems and regulate their behaviour. These skills are essential for learning, resilience and independence. Completing this training strengthens our whole-school approach to creating safe, supportive and engaging learning environments where every student can thrive.
I am also excited to share a new initiative from our Wellbeing Team. Miss Eustice, Erin and I have launched a school wellbeing podcast called Guide and Grow. In each episode, we'll explore topics related to student wellbeing in short, practical conversations of around 10 minutes - perfect for listening to while waiting to collect your child or during your drive to and from school. We inform our community when and where the episodes will be posted.
Through the podcast, we'll share how we support wellbeing at school, offer practical strategies families can use at home, and answer questions submitted by our community. Future episodes will explore topics such as screen time, healthy sleep habits, nutrition, emotional regulation and many other areas that families have identified as important. We look forward to sharing this resource with you and hope it becomes another way we can strengthen the partnership between home and school.
Over the coming weeks, we will also be seeking expressions of interest for a school holiday program through our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service. We would appreciate families taking a few moments to complete the survey once it is released. Your feedback will help us understand the level of demand, preferred days and the types of care that would best support our community. The more responses we receive, the better positioned we will be to offer a holiday program that meets the needs of our families.
Have a great weekend.
Anthony Cross
