Principals Report
Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members,
We are rapidly making our way through Term 3 and the brighter, warmer weather of Term 4 is only weeks away. With that being said, there is still a lot to achieve and complete in the remaining weeks of Term 3.
Father’s Day
I would like to thank all who came to celebrate Father’s Day on Monday. It was a lovely occasion to acknowledge the role of the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers and other important role models who support the children in our school community. Our students enjoyed making biscuits and completing other fun activities with their special person.
School ‘Pick Up’
After school, students have the opportunity to play in the school yard until 3.30pm. At this time, an additional school bell will ring, and the gate will be closed. This allows our students attending OSHC to play outside and there is no confusion as to which student is going home or at OSHC. If any Parent or Carer can’t collect their child on time, please contact the office and we will send your child to be supervised at the office.
Parent/Carer/Guardian Survey
I would like to say thank you to the parents that have taken time to complete the Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement.
Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students.
There is still time to complete the survey, it will be open until the 20th of September. The survey will be conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can be completed on any internet enabled device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and is compatible with most browsers.
Information on how to take part in the survey is posted on Compass.
I hope everyone has a warm and hopefully less windy weekend!

Foundation News - Mrs Emily Burns
We are well over the halfway point of Term 3, and it has been wonderful to see so many successes in the foundation room recently. Students are really locking into their learning.
On Tuesday we had Tracy from Responsible Pet Ownership come to visit us! Because we were such a small class, we all were able to pat her dog, Izzy! We learned how to approach dogs, and different warning signals that dogs give off. In knowledge this week, students are learning about the Earth and that there is more than one country on Earth.
They have begun making their own world globe that will be used again in Term 4 when we look at the earth in space.
Grade 1/2 News - Miss Rhiannon Eustice
What an amazing start to the week we had. Thank you to all the dads and special people who joined the Grade 1/2’s for a morning tea of juice and sugar galore biscuits!
There were some amazing creations and the students enjoyed spending some time eating, talking and colouring-in in the classroom.
We even got to showcase how good the Grade 1/2s are at singing the national anthem which has been part of our morning routine whilst learning about Geography in the knowledge this term.
Grade 5/6 News - Mrs Sharon Smith-Francis
Grade 5/6S helped their fathers or special friends celebrate Father’s Day by inviting their special people into the classroom to decorate biscuits!
A fun time was had by all and some crazy biscuits were invented. It was a lovely time spent with the students and their dads or friends.
AUSLAN NEWS – Mrs Bonnie Irving
This fortnight our Grade Foundation - 6 students have been learning how to sign weather words. We have managed to cover just about every type of weather that we’ve experienced in the last couple of weeks.
Our Grade 1-6 students have started to learn to sign the Australian Anthem. We are hoping to be confident enough to share what we have learnt at assembly in a few weeks.
Students birthday
Happy Birthday to the following students who have celebrated their birthday over the holidays or will celebrate it in the coming days.
